Norfolk Boxer Rescue

Norfolk Boxer Rescue (NBR) was founded in its present form in 1987 by members of Broadland Boxer Training Club, as it was clear that there was an ever increasing number of Boxers that needed re-homing for a variety of reasons. A committee was formed and a band of volunteers was recruited to help with vetting homes, as well as collecting and delivering dogs from all parts of Norfolk.

There are many ways to help us and everyone has a talent in a different field, whether it be home checking, transport runs, fund raising, fostering or helping hands on Boxer Days.

We appreciate any help, however small, in whatever area you feel you would be happy to contribute.

Sponsorship

Fortunately, the majority of dogs referred to us each year are rehomed within a relatively short period of time.

Occasionally a Boxer will come to us and, through no fault of its own, may have to spend a prolonged period either in kennels or with a foster home until eventually, the right family comes along.

Home Checking

All our Boxers deserve the best home, and to enable us to place them in the correct one we require experienced boxer owners to assist with the checking stage of the re-homing process. We have clear guidelines when checking a new home for the right environment and the right family, and only when we are sure that all well do we hand one of our boxers over to its new "forever home".

Fundraise

Everyone has a different approach to how they like to fund raise.

This may be a car boot sale, a coffee morning selling on eBay, personal sponsorship or a raffle, etc.

If you can help us in any of these ways - or perhaps other more creative ones (!) we will be delighted.

Fostering

It takes an exceptional family to take in a Boxer on a short-term basis to help with his adjustment and to assess him for us, to make it easier to find just the right home. Any veterinary treatment, including routine treatment,  which the dog may need whilst in foster care will be paid for by us. Clearly experience of dogs, and Boxers in particular, would be a great asset but it could be a very rewarding experience for the whole family.

Jewellery Recycling

Please send us any of your old or broken unwanted gold and silver jewellery.  Items such as odd earrings or broken chains or just items you no longer use are perfect.

Either send these in an envelope to Angela Barber, 27 Swallow Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP2 0TN or call on 01473 401514. This can all be turned into a donation.

Transport runs

Sometimes the new home, the old home, and /or our HQ in Norwich are all miles apart and we need someone to help with transporting a boxer to or from a home, etc.

We are always grateful to anyone who can offer to help us with these runs.
